|
|
Please use this thread to ask general questions about the ladder system or the opening cup!
These features are new to the ET Ladder System
| Quote: | * ELO rating system
*** no more daily point subtractions (no more force to play a match inbetween a certain time intervall)
*** just two maps per match (win/loss/draw possible)
*** more dynamic gains/losses of points for each possible result
* fusion of TMU and TMN ladders
*** just one TM Forever Ladder for everyone
*** environment specialists
***** one overall ladder
***** one subladder for each environment
***** TMN users can just participate in the Stadium subladder
*** use of TM Forever account database
* parallel replay ladder
*** a replay ladder will be run in parallel: You play time attack on the same maps, and upload replays, sum of best times count for the overall score in the replay ladder
*** hunting records on the maps in the replay ladder motivates to play a match on those in the 1on1 ladder afterwards, and the other way around
* miscellaneous
*** account verification via community code for all participants
*** media upload system for screenshots/replays of each match
*** signature banner with your ladder rank
*** better site usability (see players next matches, download maps of older mappacks, etc) |
The Replay Ladder can be found here: http://replayladder.et-leagues.com/
The 1on1 Rounds Ladder can be found here: http://roundsladder.et-leagues.com/
The Replay Ladder is already open (24.08.2008)! Use it to properly train the ladder maps.
The 1on1 Rounds Ladder is open for registrations, but the "Challenge Player" button is still hidden, until the Opening Cup next weekend (30.08.2008).
The Opening Cup scores will bring some initial ELO points into the ladder at its opening. The registrations for the Opening Cup are already opened: http://www.et-leagues.com/lc1/.
We recommend to register to both ladders in order to gain the maximum fun with the new system, though not nessecary. Also, don't forget to register to the opening cup!
Don't forget to read the rules before registering (you can also find the mappacks there):
* Opening Cup Rules
* 1on1 Rounds Ladder Rules
* Replay Ladder Rules
Have Fun!

Well, I really like this new system. But there's still a thing, about me, which "killed" the old ladder.
It's the fact using different maps from the "competition maps" like UL, SL, or LE.
The players, to stay to the top of the ladder, have to play more maps than guys who don't play ladders. So they have to train (I suppose) "ET|Thing", "ET|There's a map", "UL4 - You have to train it" and "UL4 - Ultimate" (yeah, this is fake nouns).
Using the actual competition maps can boost considerably the ladder activity, because players train on the same maps, and do ladder matches to test their level/consistency against other players.
Also, the cup is a good idea, and if this opening cup is a success, I think the experience should be renewed every month to keep some activity. |

It's just for the start, because we're in summer break.
For the mappack updates, we really plan to use UL or GC maps, so UL trainers are motivated to post their UL replays in the ladder, and when they're trained on it anyway, maybe even play a little 1on1
Also, we're planning something like the opening cup also during the runtime of the ladder, in form of weekend cups. Maybe a TMO-only cup, or whatever comes to our mind, with bonus ELO points for the ladder then |

using old maps isn't really good for replay ladder imo, cause most ppl will just come and upload their old replays and rock the ladder without doing anything "new" for it
Probably u can make so that old replays won't match the tracks, so players will have to drive new replays and as they already know the tracks it shouldn't take long |

| I think it's possible that the first mappack update comes after one month already, in order to take in the first UL4 maps for the ladder end of September. |

Really like the replay ladder, gg
Quick question,
Why is there 4 playable stadium and only 2 of the rest?
Is it to provide a stronger stadium competition for tmn drivers? |

Because it's a combined ladder for Nations and United, so the Nations players have the double amount of maps. We thought it might be a bit poor with two maps in two months to play.
PS: I'll work on the Stadium subladder table next days, to make it more overviewable than the current solution. _________________

Hmm, I already got a challenge by my clanmate Despo
Is it a bug or what?
I am able to accept or deny the challenge...
May we play this match or should we wait until after the cup?
***EDIT***
Despo already has 13 points, as he won a match against zQMG ^^
How can that be?  _________________

Updated, and deleted all points and matches. _________________

are these questions about the replay ladder? if yes:
about the points: the replay ladder is just for fun, without points.
about the date limit: even if there was one, it would be irrelevant, because every 4-8 weeks 8 new maps will be added and the 8 oldest maps removed, so everyone has to drive 8 new times to keep their rank up
about the mappack update: the next is planned for the middle of september, with UL4 maps.
i hope i could help you  _________________

Just for information:
We settled the mappack update intervall to once per month. The replay ladder was opened one week in advance, the official opening of the ladder system is tomorrow with the opening cup, so the first intervall starts this weekend.
The next mappack update will be at 1st of October so, which is right the start of the UL4, so the ET ladder mappack will contain the first map of each environment from the UL4 mappack.
I try to cover the full UL4 mappack in the replay competition. _________________

Concerning this Cup:
I think there are a lot of TMN players who registred, since I don't know half of the registred names ^^ _________________ Manialink: Lolomax
