The two german Trackmania clans Zero Clan and Bionic Gaminc have set up a massive contest for you in the middle of May!

The 100 best tracks in ET history are played on a dedicated server, which will launch at May 21st. Prizes are distributed from place 1 to 100, with over 1.000.000 coppers and 70EUR in the pool in total!

More info can be found on the contests manialink. We wish all participants good luck and have fun in being part in a piece of ET history.

Just to mention: The map archive on ET portal also contains some mappacks from former pre-ET leagues, for example CDD and also WP is not an ET-contest. So you can already remove those 4 (or 5?) maps from the pack ;)

i wonder how you came up with the "100 best rated" tracks. what rating?! since it surprises me that there are no UL4 or UL6 tracks in it. neither SL6, which had some amazing bay tracks, nor LE9 which also had some great ones. so therefore, i wonder what rating you used.

also, no stadium?! that's a part of united as well eh, and why is there a non-equal division between tracks of certain environments: 11 rally maps versus 23 coast maps. fun for the coast drivers, but not so much for the rally pros.

besides that, looking forward to it. ;)

Yes thats true less snow than coast for example. But we have all the good ET maps on our Zero Unted server since 1,5 year and we update them with every contest. And every map is rated mimimum by 200-300 users. And i get the maps with a realy strong karma. I cant add every map so its just 100 maps in the end. I know ET have more than 100 fantastic maps but this will be to much. And SL6 or UL4 for example has no maps here because they are not so high rated than other maps. And we want the best maps. I thing everyone has a diffrent taste but this is a good average.

The reason why we dont drive stadium is that we get a realy bad feedback at the last Jackpot contest (who was including stadium) about Stadium the players said that they dont wanna drive Stadium. And until now i get a realy positive feedback for dont use stadium at this contest :)

Thx for your informations

I was actually looking forward to playing lots of old LE tracks, but I guess that won't be the case now. :(
Just like JJ, I'm curious how you came up with that list, as there's a lot of GC, but very few LE/SL tracks.

Anyway, I'll try to compete, even if it's only to meet some friends online.

EDIT: Oh, nevermind, I was too slow. Still, a "Top 100 tracks" contest without eternal classics like Rax's Alpine Audio, Tuko's Hot Driving or jmj's Jaggery doesn't feel like a "Best of" to me.

I just can say again so many good tracks how is it possible to reduce all this good tracks to 100? Thats realy hard.

The votings are from players who driving on our server. But at the beginning we war the frist who used the tracks ingame for a hole server. So a lot of good players vote for the maps. Many i know from ET. I also saw players like Zooz and other realy good players there. Its realy hard to decide. But the contest starts in 5 days so we still can change some maps at the mappack!

Still it would be really really nice if you could balance the environments better. Take the Top 15 of every envi or so, then you still keep that "best karma" thing, but you'll end up with a much better contest.

Actually this Karma thing ofc is good to get the hang to alot of people outside the ET-Community, but guys here are right. Environments should be pretty even. Atleast 10 maps per environment should be.

Anyway, I won't complain about 23 Bay, 20 Desert and 19 Island Maps :D

Also as far as I see it the tracks are mostly really good tracks, so the Karma thing isn't too wrong.

no, the karma thing isn't wrong, but usually, easier tracks are generally finished more often, leading to a higher karma. i expect that to be the main reason for so little 'recent' tracks in the list, rather than the time they spent on the server or the amount of ratings they received.

at least an environmental balance would be really necessary to keep it fair for everybody. which good tracks are then preferred over other good tracks is quite trivial. an equal number of tracks per environment, though, yes please. ;)

If someone of the ET Pros can post me here some nice Snow and Rally maps from older competiotions and UL6 that will be realy nice :)

But please not to difficult :) I want that all players have fun not just the hardcore pros :)

I realy like ET its a realy great thing :) Maybe if you want we can make a little logo of ET in the Fufi widgets on the server with a link to your Homepage. Maybe a good way to show more people this great community:)

I haven't voted on there, I never bother with karma votes anyway...

Letting average ladder players vote on the maps just mean the shortest (lots of GC ones) and easiest (older ones) come out on top. Also note how there are no maps by me or other authors who are known for making more challenging tracks :D

I think your maps would be absent from most lists to be honest Zooz! PDT_030

I like them though...
