The summerseason ended, GC7 Finished.

First of all i want to say congratulations to all the finalists. I dont think there has ever been a high level GC like this. The field was insanely strong, with the most major players competing.
I wasnt there, but the time before some report was made was so long, that im going to give it a try anyway.

The maps were the same as the semifinal (yay i got kicked out) so i do know what was possible on there.
The match, as usual, started with stadium. The 7th last GC map this season.

It looks like the differences were really small at the top LSD`Clem being the fastest of all, 20-100 being the best consistant, but where lolomax ninjaed the most points.

So, off for desert now. If i say desert, i think maruk. If i say desert, i think lolomax. So it should be a heavy battle between those two. At least, thats what i would have expected. The battle was much more fierce than that it seems.
Top 4 was really close in times and in consistancy. Maruk won the map (170 points) followed by zooz (164), Oxyde (150) and lolomax (124).

So, actually 2 major shifts at the top, Lolo from 1

3 and oxyde from 10->4

On they went, Island as next map i thought? *checks the logs* Yep! Island, Minus Barbak, a nice highspeed arkone map, where times should be very close.
And they were, Maruk again as most consistant, while lolo was the fastest. Lolo won this map, 154 points. in front of maruk (145) and oxyde (134)
From this point on, i'll only do top 5, since im lazy as hell, have no time anymore actually and need to go studying. (ofcourse, personal victories like 98 points by the #15->12 NewBoo, are still worth mentioning

So, on we go with rally. Oxyde's map. If he had his wheel working again, i expected him to go all out. Lolomax would battle him, leaving the rest behind.
Thats what happened actually, Oxyde totally kicked the crap out of everybody with a 214 points score. Lolomax was 2nd, with the amount of 169 points, also a very good score. Arkone finished 3rd on this map, 141 (bringing him from 14th to 6th place). Next to that, only Maruk scored 100+ (113).

I guess from here, the top 4 is clearly showing already, with the top 3 really close together.

If i would have adminned during all this tense racing, there was a break to take a piss,dump,drink,or what ever you can do in 5 minutes.
And from the logs, which show there was a 5 min extra difference, there was too, so yay i was right again.

After that, there was bay. Bay.. a dreadful zooz-map i can say i think.
Bay, with close racing, and some player (Den) who appearantly wants to be mentionned in the scoresheet, since he attacked the top 5 (he went from 8-6 with a tied 2nd place on this map).
Lolomax kept the speed he had in rally, and won this map with 134 points. It was pretty close i might add, since both Den and Maruk had 132.

So now, there we travel to the alps, where the frenchies still hang on to wooden bridges, edges near the road and icy fields without tarmac. Its time for SNOW! Snow, Lolomax and maruk should have a nice battle here. They finished within 3 points of eachother. Just the fact that lolo DCed 1 lap, and retired the one he came back in. Leaving him 8 laps out of 10 on one of his favorite environments.
When seeing the logs, the battle was even more fierce than i expected, with 7 players driving very fast. 2 players from the downside of the scoresheet scored over 100 points (kenzo (115) and NewBoo (105)). Giving them quite the catch up. Also, Den kicked 20-100 out of the top 5. If only i would have said that i would have done top5 results a little bit earlier, he might have done better on the early maps too.

How would lolo overcome this mental blow? I dont know, but i think he might have lost a little of his focus. Coast was by far his worst map (scored only 62 points). Only 3 players scored less (Atze-peng, red-lantern carrier, who didnt even care anymore (23pts), Kenzo (50) and arkone (50))
If it was because of snow, i dont know, but with this loss, maruk (132) took enough points to overtake lolo at the last map. (NewBoo won the map with 167 points rushing him from 12th to 7th place). Maxon (133) and Zooz (132) completed the top 3 of this last GC7 map.

This news Completes the GC7 this season. In my humble opinion, i think this was the best GC7 ever, with the hardest competition during the playoffs.
